2 Important Services A Pump Repair Specialist Can Provide

Home & Garden Blog

Having access to a reliable water source is something that most home owners take for granted in today's advanced society. Only when one of the components within a water system breaks down does a home owner realize how valuable this water system truly is.

Fortunately, pump service repair professionals have the ability to repair broken water pumps and restore functionality to a home owner's water system with ease. Here are two important services you can rely on a pump repair specialist to perform in the future.

1. Vibration Analysis

Any machine with moving parts, like those found within water pumps, create vibrations when they are running. These vibrations, though a natural side effect of a functional water system, have the potential to cause significant damage if they are left unchecked. If you want to prevent a potentially expensive water pump replacement, you can have a pump repair specialist perform a vibration analysis to determine the risk the vibrations created by your water pose to your water system.

High vibration rates could be caused by poor pump suction or worn bearings within the pump. Being able to identify the cause of high vibration levels through a vibration analysis will allow the pump repair specialist to address the problem before the entire pump is rendered inoperable.

2. Laser Alignment

Ensuring that the shaft within your water pump is properly aligned is essential when it comes to maximizing the efficiency of your water system. When a shaft is not in alignment, the pump could consume up to 15% more energy than a properly aligned pump, resulting in more costly utility expenses.

The potential for premature wear also increases when a water pump's shaft is not aligned correctly. When moving parts within the pump are not aligned properly, they can rub against one another and cause a system failure. A pump repair specialist has the ability to use specialized lasers to check the alignment of a water pump's shaft. Adjustments can be made before these alignment issues have the chance to cause serious malfunctions within the water system as a whole.

Home owners rely on their water systems to wash dishes, take showers, and maintain their landscaping on a regular basis. If the water pump fails due to elevated vibration levels or a misaligned shaft, access to running water will be cut off.

Be sure that you take the time to have a pump repair specialist come to your home and perform a vibration analysis and laser alignment if you want to extend the life of your water pump in the future.

Double Up: Bunks Beds as a Small Room Solution

Having to place children's furniture in a small bedroom presented a problem for me. With two growing kids, I needed a dresser to accommodate both boys, as well as two beds. With two beds, desk and chair, toy chest and floor lamp, the room seemed overly crowded. My solution came with a highly functional bunk bed. Bunk beds take up minimal space. Better yet, my choice was a bunk that included a storage drawer. This compartment is used for storing the boys' small toys and other necessities. I didn't have to have a separate toy chest, so I reduced clutter which was great! When you have multiple children all in one room, you need all the help you can get!
